The
Under 14's shall once again be left in the good hands of
Željko Anicic this year. Anicic, who is a skilled and professional football
player of Serbian origins, used to play for Lija Athletic's Senior Squad
some time ago. He is also very serious and dedicated when it comes
to coaching. Some of the boys already know him from the past season,
during which
he had also coached the
Under 14 category.
Željko Anicic
shall be aided by Mr. Lawrence Borg, who has also coached
within the Lija Youth Nursery, of which he is a very
active member. |

Last year, the Lija/Iklin
Under 14 Squad had a very good season
whereby only three games were lost and promotion to Section B was missed by a whisker. The
Under 14's ended up seventh in the
final standings and were only a few points behind the leading four
teams. We are sure
that this year, in Section C-1, the Under 14 Squad shall
once again offer a very stiff challenge
to its opponents. One can only hope that our boys
will have a positive season, but moreover enjoy themselves in a friendly
environment during their training sessions held under the guidance of
two of our Nursery's experts in the field. |
