 Comments from the Coach: "In our first match the team played very well and created many scoring opportunities, however as has happened during matches from the recent past years we managed to score only two (2) goals. The first goal of the match was scored by Anthony Galea. After missing plenty of chances we were punished, as the only shot that came from the Żurrieq boys finished at the back of our net. At half-time the score was 1-1. The boys in green remained calm and in the second half the Lija/Iklin lads pressed more. This paid off when the captain, Leandro Scerri unmarked himself and placed the ball inside the net from a 10m distance to earn his team its first 3 points of the season. Overall it was a most deserved victory. The game was fair and correct."
